Teeth Cleaning in Calgary - Dental Hygiene Therapy

We provide oral health care for ALL ages.  You may know this as "TEETH or DENTAL CLEANINGS".  Teeth cleaning is removing plaque biofilms and mineral build up on the teeth known as tartar or calculus.  Both plaque and tartar build up causes gum inflammation and destruction.  Removing these sources helps to keep your gums healthy and strong.

You can choose from Traditional approach with Ultrasonic, Piezo and hand scaling OR a NEW technique of Guided Biofilm Therapy approach.

We respect each of our clients health choices. Whether you just want hand scaling removal of tartar to using topical anaesthetic for sensitive gums or need to be fully frozen up before treatment. The final choice is yours, we will give you options for best possible care and experience.

The Importance of Oral Health for Your Overall Wellbeing:
Many dental diseases, such as gum disease, can be prevented by taking good care of your oral health. Regular professional care is essential to ensure problems are detected and treated early. During your appointment, your hygienist will use ultrasonic and/or hand scaling techniques to remove any build-up of plaque and tartar. Afterward, they will polish your teeth to remove any surface stains. If you are suffering from gingivitis, your hygienist may recommend using laser treatment to reduce the bacteria and promote healing. A typical adult cleaning is approximately $300 for 90-minute appointment.

Deep Cleaning - for "Gum Disease"
Periodontal disease otherwise known as "GUM DISEASE" is a serious gum infection that damages the soft tissue around the teeth causing 'periodontal pockets'.  It is known as the SILENT KILLER of teeth.  Many individuals do not even know they have it until it is too late!  It is estimated that up to 80% of the population has some form of gum disease in their mouth.

Along with the removal of tartar and biofilms, this type of 'teeth cleaning' is done below the gumline in pockets that are 5 mm or more in depth. Laser therapy is often required. This procedure will include treating your pockets (GBT) PERIO flow powder and with laser assisted periodontal therapy (LAPT). You may need to come back for additional laser treatments in order to get the bacteria in your mouth under control.

Antibiotics systemic or localized or Pur03 Ozonated products may also be needed and added to your care plan. Maintenance protocol is 3 or 4 months.  Our fee for deep cleaning is $80 per unit = 15 minutes of time. A typical 90-min appointment is approximately $350.
